Straw Bale Building - Williams, Oregon


The shop building is 800 SF under roof, sited using permaculture design principles. All wood is sustainably cut (including trusses – requiring a special process with the truss manufacturer), no plywood or PVC piping is used, concrete use is minimized through a grade-beam design, and straw-bale in-fill walls are used within a wood frame structure, with earthen plaster walls and adobe floor.
